Kukri continue partnership with leading Sevens event
As a proud sponsor and official merchandise supplier for a ninth year on the bounce, we were delighted to see that over 120,000 descended on the Hong Kong Stadium to witness the weekend’s relentless action.
The carnival atmosphere in the stands was matched with the intense on-field action, where Fiji managed to secure the Cup once more – their 15th victory in the tournaments 40 year history. Fiji defeated strong challengers New Zealand 22-19 in an epic battle to get their hands on one of Sevens most sought after prizes.
As well as supplying the official merchandise, we sponsored three teams this year; supporting Hong Kong, Tonga and Belgium on their quest for Hong Kong Sevens glory. Ultimately, the teams were unable to secure any silverware, but we couldn’t be prouder of Team Kukri!
Belgium, playing at the tournament for the first time, may not have got the results they were hoping for, but they certainly lit up the tournament with their impressive jerseys.
We had an impressive presence at this year’s tournament. Aside from our teams taking to the field, the retail stores throughout the Hong Kong Stadium were a real attraction for the masses of fans on the way to their seats. With jerseys, hoodies and much more available to purchase, our Hong Kong Sevens was a roaring success.
